ABOUT ANDREW SAX

Played stringed instruments in my youth, under duress. As I approached retirement from a high pressure job I wanted to get back into music again - so taught myself something completely different - Saxophone.  Now I'm retired I play in several bands and play with backing tracks for charity as a busker.  I have now performed hundreds of gigs and play regularly for restaurants, birthday and other parties, weddings, charity galas, proposals, romantic dinner anniversaries and funerals, as well as community events.  I get great comments when I play, aiming for a lyric tone that expresses the original artist's intention, playing the tune on Alto, Tenor or Baritone depending on the style of piece, and I also playalong with the tune with recording or DJ.  I play a wide range of music that takes my fancy up to 1990 (when work travel took me away from music for 20 years) then more recent pop as I try to keep up with my family, plus numbers I've learned as requests for prior clients. Clients are consistently impressed with my professional communication, my flexibility and interest in meeting their needs, including accommodating surprises and special requests, plus my wide-ranging extensive (1800+ song) playlist which is always available for requests on the day.   I'm chuffed that over half of my gigs now are invites back - I must be doing something right.  I'm happy to make a positive difference to people's lives with my second career.  Plus, I get great comments about the sound I make - check-out my reviews, and my sound.
